We're a small family business in Sparks, Nevada, turning your favorite candy and ice cream into big, crunchy, freeze-dried treats, one small batch at a time.
How it started
It all started with astronaut ice cream. As a kid, Andrew mowed lawns around the neighborhood just to earn enough to buy astronaut ice cream sandwiches and Neapolitan squares. He never got over them.
Years later, he and Danielle started freeze-drying treats at home, and in July 2021 that hobby became Tahoe Treats, starting out in our basement in Sparks.
By October 2022 we'd outgrown the basement and moved into our own fully licensed commercial facility. We were the first commercially permitted freeze-dried candy and ice cream maker in the Reno-Tahoe area.
We're still a husband-and-wife team with a couple of part-time helpers, making every batch ourselves. Today you'll find our treats at hotels, casinos, resorts, markets and convenience stores around Northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe, including Rocket Fizz soda & candy shops and the Fleischmann Planetarium.
How we make the crunch
No shortcuts. Every batch goes through our freeze dryers and gets checked, bagged and labeled by hand.
